MANAGEMENT TEAM
Alejandro López-Cortijo
CEO and company founder. After a brief stay in the F. J. M. Blanc as an engineer for endangered species habitat restoration projects (Monachus m., purple p.), Alejandro specialised in environmental policy. He founded the Instituto Ibérico para el Medio Ambiente (IIMA) in 1988, with headquarters in Madrid, Lisbon and Brussels, heading the company for three years. In 1991 he created IIMA Consultora, dedicating his career to the area of technical consulting for the energy sector. In 2004, he was appointed director of the Spanish Office for Ecosecurities, a position he has combined with that of IIMA since. He is a specialist in climate change, visiting lecturer at the UPM (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), author of several publications, and contributor to numerous forums. Alejandro graduated as an agricultural engineer (UPM) and holds an MSc in Environmental Policy (University of London).
Luis Garcerán
His career has focused on the development of all documentation required for the environmental evaluation of projects, from environmental impact studies to restoration projects, environmental monitoring plans and fauna and vegetation studies, focusing predominantly on linear projects. He has also managed the implementation of environmental monitoring plans and has participated in the management and execution of environmental restoration projects.
Carlos Torres
With several years experience as an IGME (Spanish Institute of Geology and Mining) groundwater technician, Carlos joined IIMA Consultora in 2000 to develop the underground engineering area. He specialises in the problems of water and soils pollution, atmosphere and noise. Carlos currently manages the two areas of IPPC authorisation for industrial plants and climate change consulting projects.
Verónica Chanca
Since joining the company, Verónica has been responsible for the quality management system adhering to ISO 9001: 2000, and the systems energy management standard UNE 216301: 2007. She is also an environmental consultant for various technical areas of the company: environmental impact studies, on site environmental assistance, etc., and works as a GIS (geographic information system) technician.
